Food and beverage outlet operator, SSP Group, is to open 11 bars and restaurants across Spanish airport operator AENA’s network. Palma de Mallorca, Menorca and Barcelona airport are all set to benefit from the agreement.

SSP will operate six new units at Palma de Mallorca, including the first Popeyes restaurant for any Spanish airport. Passengers will also be able to enjoy innovative new retail and F&B spaces with guests shopping at Goiko  able to use a digital order and collect system, which will also enable them to personalise their selections. Meanwhile, at Menorca Airport, the much feted Enrique Tomas, which is found at over 100 locations in Spain and is renowned for its fine quality ham, will offer a selection of cured meats, wine and cheeses. Italian foodie lovers will also be able to make the most of La Boutique Italian Food , as well as the opportunity to purchase from a range of sandwiches, coffees and other snacks at Pannus Cafe. Finally, at Barcelona Yo! Sushi will be making its debut at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The restaurant will mark SSP’s ninth outlet at the Spanish capital’s main air transport hub and will feature easy-to-use digital self-checkout technology.
