At the end of 2023, aviation technology innovator, X-1FBO, launched its purpose-built X-1 Landing System – an airport focused solution integrating automated aircraft tracking data, smart invoicing and payment processing to set a new standard for efficiency for airport operations and aircraft operators. The inaugural deployment took place at Morristown Airport in the US.

The fully automated solution tracks all incoming and outgoing traffic and is based on characteristics such as weight, size and category. The smart invoicing calculates the correct fees and sends the invoices to the customer directly for payment, therefore eliminating the need for data entry. Customers can then chose to settle invoices via email or by logging into their airport-provided Customer Portal, which offers single or multiple landing fee payment options as well as the option to receive statements for repeat customers, which can then be settled as a payment method on file making the airport’s billing and collections hands-free.

As the test customer, Morristown Airport in New Jersey (which is operated by DM Airport) trialled the solution to ensure every aspect of the customer experience is both seamless and user-friendly. Corey Hanlon, DM Airport Manager said that X-1 Landing will enable the airport to provide an even higher level of convenience and reliability for its valued customers.

Meanwhile, George Reyes, Director of Business Development and Co-founder of X-1, said: “The team at Morristown has been great to work with and we’re happy to play a small part in their continued successes.”
