Nice Cote d'azur

The past year has seen Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur (which operates three airports in Nice, Cannes and the Gulf of St Tropez) fulfil its promises to the region it serves in 2023, by opening it up and meeting demand for connectivity to global destinations.

The network  of destinations served by Nice Côte d’Azur in 2023 returned to a level comparable with 2019, with 116 destinations in 44 countries. The airport also handled nearly 14.2 million passengers (compared to 14.5 million in 2019). While commercial passenger traffic saw a recovery of 98% and a load factor of 80.2% compared with 2019, general aviation traffic saw a slight decrease (down by 7.3%) on 2022 figures as the specific needs of the pandemic receded. It remained above 2019 levels however.

“Connecting directly the Côte d’Azur to major cities in the region, developing direct lines to international capitals, is the way to respond responsibly tot he transport needs of the Riviera residents and all those who come to visit us,” said Franck Goldnadel, Chair of the Executive Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur.

With continued growth in passenger traffic (up to 18 million) anticipated, work to upgrade Terminal 2 at Nice is already underway with the new boarding pier expected to be operational in Summer 2025.  The upgrade will include 36 new check-in desks and a baggage handling system.
