Vertiport infrastructure specialist Urban-Air Port has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Egis to develop its compact and modular vertiport solutions with a focus on the patented technology-driven Vertical Airfield, which could be a game changer in scaling up electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations.

The intial focus of the collaboration will be the specialist engineering and operational input that Egis can offer. Looking more broadly at what the partnership means, Andrea Wu, CEO at Urban-Air Port explained, “Egis has extensive experience and a world-class reputation for designing and operating a wide array of transport infrastructure systems from highways to airports. Combined with our strategic vision to create sustainable, intermodal transport hubs enabled by Urban-Air Port’s Technology this partnership provides for a powerful new alliance to deliver on the promise of Advanced Air Mobility.”

Wu was joined by Herve Drevillon, Project Director at Egis, who said, “Urban-Air Port’s Vertical Airfield project offers an efficient footprint, class-leading passenger experience and an innovative terminal building design. We are looking forward to working with the team, bringing our understanding of airspace management and integration, all-round engineering experience and a track record in operating 20 airports around the world to help make it happen.”
