Signature Aviation has begun construction on a $11.3 million FBO facility at Huntsville Airport in Alabama, in the US.

Underlining the importance of this investment and the positive impact it will have on the region, Marty Kretchman, SVP of operations at Signature Aviation, said: “To keep up with the growth that’s already happened and the growth we think is to come, moving into more modern, larger facilities will help us serve better as the front door to the Huntsville community here.”

The facility, which is expected to be complete in mid to late 2024, will feature a spacious terminal, comfortable lounges, private meeting rooms and concierge services. It will also accommodate a ramp expansion as part of the facility upgrades.

Port of Huntsville CEO Butch Roberts explained that Signature has been an important partner since 1992 and has been instrumental in contributing to the growth of Huntsville as a commercial airport, particularly with cargo operations.

He said: “Signature responded to growing demand for air cargo support by investing in fuel trucks to keep jets flying and cargo moving through Huntsville with quicker turnaround times.”

Trey Bentley, Port of Huntsville Board Chair, added: “The first and last impressions that visiting corporate leadership will have of our community will be the terminal they taxi up to when visiting Huntsville. As a private pilot and business owner, I understand the importance of these impressions, and at HSV we have a first-class corporate aviation operation. This will be reflected in modern, attractive improvements to the Signature terminal.”
