Popular low-fare carrier, Ryanair, is adding two more routes, as well as expanded timetables and a new aircraft to its base at Stockholm Arlanda in Sweden.

The additional services mean that the LCC has launched eight new routes from the Swedish hub, which is operated by Swedavia, since October 2022 and it now operates a total of 45 routes and 320 flights a week to and from Arlanda.

Charlotte Ljunggren, Swedavia’s CCO commented on how gratifying it is that just over one year since it set up operations at Arlanda, Ryanair continues to strengthen its presence in the Swedish market. “The new destinations are welcome additions to the existing range of European air links on offer. they will be appreciated by our passengers this summer, no matter whether they want to fly to meet relatives and friends, seek out city experiences or sea and sun, or travel on business,” she said.

The addition of an aircraft brings the airlines total aircraft stationed at Arlanda to five, while the two new routes will include Dublin, which the airline will start serving on 26 March and Porto, which will begin on 4 June. Of the other routes added since October, service is already available to Birmingham, Malta, Pisa, Turin, Tuzla and Valencia. Ten of the carrier’s existing routes will be increased in frequency including to destinations such as Krakow, Milan, Thessaloniki and Vienna as well as some domestic links.

Annika Ledeboer, Country Manager Nordics and DACH region at Ryanair commented: “The summer 2023 timetable is our biggest ever, and will entail the addition of a new aircraft at Ryanair’s Arlanda base, along with a total 150 active pilots crew members and increased connectivity to and from the Stockholm region.”
