London Oxford Airport’s R&D Science Park has been granted approval.

The facility will be situated at the entrance to the business aviation hub in a green campus-like-environment. As reported previously in Regional Gateway, it will provide 200,405 sq ft for high-quality, laboratory-enabled spaces. Five buildings will provide units of between 7,700 sq ft to 56,300 sq ft for up to 17 tenants.

Sitting alongside both Oxford Technology Park and the Begbroke Science Park, the science park cements north Kidlington as a centre of innovation with the added benefit of being situated on a fully operational airport.

According to London Oxford Airport, the new science park is commended for its sustainability features, including some 89 EV charging points. As a circa £35m investment, it should support up to 227 FTE jobs directly, plus up to 324 additional jobs over the two-year construction period. Once occupied, it is expected to support up to 309 net additional high-skilled, high-value FTE jobs on site and contribute overall annually up to £57.67 million to the economy.
