Oshkosh Volterra Electric ARFF

French airport operator, Groupe ADP, has secured a contract to purchase four Oshkosh Striker Volterra electric Airfield Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles for dedicated business aviation hub, Paris-Le Bourget.

The environmentally-advanced fire apparatus will make up an entire fleet replacement for the French hub, which is located just 8km northeast of Paris. The vehicles were selected as they offer a proven performance with exceptional acceleration, a custom chassis and suspension and a fully electric range that enables them to perform all the daily tasks required at the airport.

The four Striker Volterra electric ARFF vehicles will feature other advanced technologies and design elements. With an industry-leading modular cab design and TAK-4 all-wheel independent suspension, tehse vehicles are built to deliver outstanding performance in emergency response situations. Each vehicle will be equipped with a 10,500 litre water tank, an 800-litre foam tank and a 7,570 lmp water pump. They will also feature a 250kg dry chemical powder system as well as the Oshkosh Eco EFP foam system, which requires zero foam on the ground for testing foam percentage.
