National Flight Services’ (NFS’s) FBO assets at Eugen F Kranz Toledo Express Airport have been acquired by Grand Aire as it expands its FBO presence with two on-field locations in Ohio.

The acquisition includes FBO equipment, including fuelling and de-icing equipment, as well as facilities on the east end of the airport where Grand Aire will operate cargo-dedicated FBO operations. This is in addition to Grande Aire’s rapidly growing FBO operations at its existing corporate headquarters at the same location.

The new FBO facilities include a 3,200 sq ft terminal building with an attached 16,000 sq ft hangar, which can accommodate aircraft up to a Citation Latitude. The terminal also features a passenger lounge, separate area for pilots, a kitchen area and complimentary crew cars.

Meanwhile, the cargo FBO includes a 5,000 sq ft ground service maintenance facility and 195,000 sq ft of additional ramp space. To fuel visiting aircraft, the east location features both Jet-A and Avgas fuel tanks with fuel provided by Avfuel. Grand Aire plans to update the building’s exterior, insulate the hangar and upgrade the buildings to LED lighting.

“We are excited to now be operating an FBO dedicated to cargo (GA-East) as well as an FBO dedicated to corporate travel (GA-West),” said Zach Cheema, CEO and President of Grand Aire. “With this investment, Grande Aire is able to further serve Toledo’s aviation community and help drive the region’s economy.”

While NFS will continue to operate an aviation maintenance facility, repairing and inspecting aircraft at the Toledo airport, the two companies will remain separate businesses.
