Food and beverage operator SSP has celebrated the official opening of a new street food concept, The Mezz, at Dublin Airport.

Found in Terminal 2, The Mezz offers five food and beverage options, including local Irish favourites and new brands developed by SSP.

Serving “Good Mood Thai Food”, Camile Thai uses fresh local ingredients in its menu to offer passengers a little taste of Thailand. Developed by SSP for the airport, Erin’s Kitchen offers classic, homemade, hearty comfort food with the menu featuring dishes such as pulled ham hock with creamy mash and steamed cabbage. There’s also a classic Irish breakfast. Meanwhile, Anco Hancho boasts a Mexican menus while Galway-based Handsome Burger serves up what has been dubbed ‘Ireland’s best burger.’

The Mezz’s four food concepts are complemented by a bar offering a range of locally brewed and international drinks, as well as coffees from specialty Irish coffee roasters, Badger & Dodo who source from a selection of 85+ curate coffees.

To enhance the customer experience, digital technology has been deployed with a 31 metre digital banner which uses 3.5 million pixels to deliver visually stunning, colourful displays that showcase menu items from each of the brands. Digital kiosks allow customers to order from each of the brands in one, convenient place.

“The new food offerings in The Mezz are already going down extremely well with the 100,000+ passengers that are flying and out of Dublin Airport every day,” said Kenny Jacobs, CEO of daa, which operates Dublin Airport. “The Mezz is an exciting new addition to Terminal 2 and we’ve launched in close partnership with SSP, based on feedback from passengers and what they want to see in the terminals at Dublin Airport.”

He added that passengers can expect more exciting changes and enhancements soon.
