Germany’s Cologne Bonn Airport has confirmed a seven-and-a-half year contract with Turkish travel retailer Setur Duty Free, to operate the airport’s duty free and duty paid stores.

According to Setur, its plans to introduce a data-driven business approach and digital retail experiences will enhance the customer experience and maximise potential revenues across the airport’s two terminals.

“Setur Duty Free operates 50 stores throughout 20 locations with a total sales area of 22,000 sq. m. at land borders, seaports and airports,” said Ahmet Sonmez, CEO of Setur. “With this investment in Europe, we are initiating the globalisation step of our growth strategy. In these seven-and-a-half years we want to enhance the potential of Cologne Bonn Airport and create value for all parties with our customer-oriented service philosophy.
