Amadeus and Pristina International Airport have strengthened their long-term strategic partnership with the introduction of Amadeus’s cloud platform to the airport’s end-to-end passenger processes. The transition to the new Amadeus solutions will take place throughout 2023.

The new agreement will increase the self-service options for passengers at the airport, including self-service check-in and bag drop kiosks; automated scanning of mobile or printed boarding passes; and automated pre-security checkpoints throughout the airport. The removal of legacy fixed IT will allow passenger services to be determined by demand, with passenger service points able to be positioned or relocated anywhere in the terminal.

“Deepening our partnership with Amadeus was the next logical step in the major technology modernisation project we’re currently undertaking and we look forward to delivering faster, more efficient services for our travellers,” said Gökmen Aritay, COO, Limak Kosovo International Airport JSC. “We aim to be one of the best performing airports in Europe and modern technology is at the heart of our strategy.”

Pristina International Airport will also be introducing the Amadeus Airport management Suite (AMS), which it will use to manage information on flight schedules one year in advance. Additionally, the AMS system introduces advanced optimisation algorithms aimed at managing share airport resources such as stands, gates and check-in counters among the airlines operating from the airport.

“Passengers expect a smooth and stress-free experience at every service point in the terminal,” added Yannick Beunardeau, SVP Airport and Airline Operations EMEA, Amadeus. “With our goal of making the experience of travel better for everyone, everywhere, we’re delighted to have been chosen as Limak Pristina Airport’s strategic technology partner after so many years of partnership.”
