Start-up regional airlines Skåneflyg and Västflyg are expanding their network of air routes from Stockholm Bromma Airport in Sweden, by launching direct services to Krstianstad and Trollhattan. Both routes will start in late March.

Prior to the pandemic, both Krsitianstad and Trollhattan were featured on Bromma Stockholm’s destination network, but have remained unserved for the last two years. Started in late 2020 by a group of four entrepreneurs Skåneflyg will operate the service to Kristianstad, while newly-formed airline Västflyg, which was launched in November 2021 will fly to Trollhättan.

The timetables for both routes will enable connecting flights suitable for business travellers, who are also expected to continue to represent the biggest share of passengers on both airlines, although the percentage of leisure passengers is growing.

With Stockholm Bromma operated by Swedavia, the airport operator’s Director of Aviation Business, Elizabeth Axtelius said: “We would like to wish Skåneflyg and Västflyg a warm welcome to Bromma. We are naturally pleased that access has once again been strengthened across Sweden and that airlines see opportunities in the market and dare to invest. In late March, non-stop service to Helsinki from Bromma will also be resumed. Now, with the easing of restrictions and demand on the rise, that points to increased travel, and the expanded range of routes available is a positive addition.”
