Baggage handling services provider, Alstef Group, has been awarded a contract to upgrade the terminal baggage handling system (BHS) at two airports in Mexico.

The contract includes BHS for both departure and arrival processes at Tepic International Airport and Puerto Escondido International Airport and is scheduled for commissioning by mid-2024.

At Tepic Airport, the departures system will include a total of 23 check-in positions, an explosive detection system (EDS) screening line, a make-up carousel and an out-of-gauge (OOG) line equipped with screening capabilities. Meanwhile, the arrivals system will include three reclaim carousels and an OOG line with integrated screening.

The new Puerto Escondido terminal will include 16 check-in positions, one EDS screening line, a make-up lateral and an OOG line equipped with screening capabilities. The arrivals system will offer three reclaim carousel and an OOG line with integrated screening.

With a strong track record in providing innovative logistics solutions, Alstef says it is well-positioned to meet the specific needs and challenges of the two air transport hubs.
