UK-based Systems Interface (SIL) has completed a turnkey contract to supply, install and commission four ATIS systems at four hubs in a central Asian state.

The contraction, in cooperation with SIL’s key supplier Copperchase was delivered on time and on budget by SIL engineers over a three week period.  As part of the agreement SIL also included training for local engineers and Air Traffic Controllers.

The state-of-the-art equipment provides a cost effective and reliable automated system for the coutnrys’ Air Navigation Service Provider. It is designed to provide automated delivery of meteorological and operational aerodrome information to arriving and departing aircraft, as well as current and forecast weather at alternative aerodromes.

Designed to integrate with ED-137 standard Voice over IP (VoIP) radios, SIL’s system has the potential to be upgraded to include a Digital-Automatic Terminal Information System (D-ATIS).
