Designed and developed in cooperation with ADB Safegate, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has launched an advanced digital platform (OFOQ) at King Khalid International Airport to manage operations at the Saudi-Arabian gateway. The launch is part of Riyadh Airports Company’s (RAC) digital transformation efforts and the broader objectives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become a global leader of the digital economy.

Established in 2016, RAC currently manages operations at King Khalid Airport with a vision of becoming a regional pioneer in airport management.

The new digital platform acts as a central database and management tool for all operational processes taking place across the airport’s facilities. It provides insights into all operational procedures from one single platform, enabling proactive and data-driven decision-making measures. As well as improving planning processes, it will help minimise any disruptions and will improve the overall passenger experience.

Mohammed S. Alshammari, ICT General Manager at RAC, added, “As part of our mission to provide a second-to-none passenger experience and uphold the highest levels of service of any airport worldwide, it is vital that we adopt advanced technological solutions and digitally transform Saudi Arabia’s capital airport. In line with that objective, we are delighted to have launched our new digital OFOQ platform, the result of our collaboration at Riyadh Airports Company with ADB SAFEGATE.”

Also commenting on the collaboration, Thorben Burghardt, Vice President at ADB SAFEGATE, added, “OFOQ is a modern, integrated and comprehensive digital platform, that will help us to manage King Khalid International Airport’s with increased operational efficiency. The successful launch comes as the result of a strategic partnership between Riyadh Airports Company and ADB SAFEGATE – two companies dedicated to developing innovative digital solutions.”
