Ghana Airports Company International, which operates Kumasi and Tamale airports in West Africa has taken delivery of two Oshkosh Striker aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles.

“What makes the new Striker ARFF vehicles for Ghana Airports Company’s Kumasi and Tamale International airports unique is the incredible water, foam and dry chemical capacities,” said Salim Hawi, VP of international sales for Oshkosh Airport Products.

The 6×6 ARFF vehicles will support emergency operations at both airports which serve more than 600,000 passengers annually. The vehicles feature a 12,500 litre (3,302 gallons) water capacity, a foam capacity of 1,750 litres (460 gallons) and a dry chemical capacity of 250kg (550 pounds).
