Norwegian is expanding its network from Sweden’s Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, this time to the popular holiday destination of Dubrovnik in Croatia.

The airline will start its new link in Spring 2024, ahead of the busy summer season with flights being operated twice a week initially from 1 May.

Characterised by its mild climate, rich history and beautiful architecture, Dubrovnik is perhaps the most visited tourist hotspot in Croatia, but it is also a popular destination for those visiting family and friends and for business, according to Elizabeht Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia, which operates Landvetter.

“There is a great confidence in the Swedish air travel market, and Norwegian’s investment in additional direct routes from Goteborg Landvetter is a clear sign of this. Norwegian has a longstanding presence at Swedavia’s aiprorts and plays an important role in connecting Sweden to well-estalbished markets in Europe,” she said.

Norwegian’s Commercial Director, Magnus Thome, added that with this latest launch, passengers will be able to fly directly to nine destinations from Gothenburg. He also noted there is “great interest in being able to fly directly from Gothenburg and it is therefore pleasing to be able to offer more departures next year.”

Norwegian currently operates direct routes to Alicante, Barcelona, Las Palmas and Malaga during the winter season (October to March) from Gothenburg. Next summer, there will be direct flights to Nice, Palma/ Mallorca, London Gatwick, Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, Pristina and Dubrovnik.
