Tennessee’s Nashville International Airport (BNA) has opened its first free-standing, eight-gate Satellite Concourse, which has been designed to accommodate the operations of Allegiant Air and Spirit Airlines.

The opening marks a major milestone of the airport’s Vision expansion programme. Passengers will access the concourse via electric shuttle buses which will run frequently from the main terminal.

“The opening of our new Satellite Concourse is a milestone for BNA as we continue to work to accommodate the exponential growth we’re experiencing while simultaneously enhancing the passenger experience,” said Doug Kreulen, President and CEO of Nashville International Airport. “As we continue to work towards building a world-class airport for a world-class city, we are excited for our passengers to experience the newest addition to BNA.”

A soft opening of the concourse on Saturday 21 October, a range of retail and concession options were unveiled in the new facility enabling passengers to savour some of Nasvhille’s favourites, including Distillery District Market, offering a range of full-bottle Tennesse spirits; Gulch Goods – a retail showcase for local artisans and travel essentials; and Nashville Supply Co., a colourful retail store featuring local products.

Once the concourse opens fully (the date is to be confirmed), it will include additional concessions, such as Bongo Java, Nashville’s oldest coffee company; Fat Bottom Brewery, a a full restaurant replicating the iconic Nashville-based brewery; and TX/ MX, a restaurant celebrating Tex Mex cuisine.
