Southwest Airlines has selected Nashville International Airport (BNA) to be its newest crew base from 2024. BNA will be the carrier’s 12th crew base, housing an estimated 500 to 700 flight attendants and 150 to 200 pilots from 2024.

BNA and Southwest Airlines will add four gates in Q4 2023 to support its operations, aiming for a total of 20 gates in total by the end of the year.

BNA recently announced a record-breaking year, carrying a total of 21.9 million passengers at the end of its fiscal year, more than doubling in the past 10 years.

“This is an outstanding and momentous announcement that truly reflects our valuable partnership with Southwest Airlines and signifies our shared vision of elevating travel to new heights,” said Doug Kreulen, president and CEO, Nashville International Airport. “Southwest Airlines’ dedication to safety, service and innovation perfectly aligns with our commitment to providing our customers with an unparalleled experience, and we’re thrilled for this expansion.”
