French low-cost carrier, Transavia France, is setting up operations in Sweden with a new direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Montpellier on the southern coast of France.

The new route will be operated from 11 June to 13 August with a weekly service on Fridays using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The main hub of the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in France and a popular university town, Montpellier is a popular destination for passengers travelling from Sweden. It also serves as a gateway to large parts of the Mediterranean region. Prior to the global pandemic the route was popular with travellers, but Transavia France is currently the sole carrier offering flights serving this route.
