Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has mandated that all passengers’ shoes must be removed at the security screening checkpoints at all airports across the country. GACL operates six airports in Ghana, including Kotoka International Airport (pictured), Kumai Airport, Sunyani Airport, Tamale Airport, Wa Airport and Ho Airport.

Issued by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the mandate will help the authorities oversee the implementation of security measures to safeguard air transport, life and property.

The GCAA’s directives assert that no person shall enter a sterile area or a security restricted area without having his or her person or carry-on baggage, goods or other articles in their possession screened.
