Lancaster Airport (KLNS) is set to reopen runway 8-26, taxiway Delta and taxiways Juliet and November from 1 July 2023, following the successful completion of Phase III of its four-phase runway improvement project.

The project launched in 2021 with the aim to upgrade and standardise the runway and taxiway surfaces, mitigating potentially hazardous storm-water ponding mid-field.

“We’re grateful for the flying public’s patience while we continue to improve the runway facilities at Lancaster Airport,” said Mary Forney, FBO Manager, LNS Alliance Aviation. “The resurfacing and drainage improvements are necessary for safer, smoother landings and safety is always our top priority.”

Accompanying the runway upgrade is the new Alliance Aviation 6,700 sq ft facility, offering pilot and passenger lounges, a flight planning area and concierge customer service for arranging car rentals, hotel and catering, such as the on-site restaurant.

Additionally, Alliance Aviation will be offering a Jet A fuel promotion of 4 AVTRIP Points per gallon on uplifts of 10 points per gallon for top offs from 1 July to 31 July.

“We look forward to welcoming both established customers and new faces alike to Lancaster and helping them make the most of their time in the area,” added Forney.
