As the first day of Inter Airport Europe 2023 drew to a close, ADB Safegate got the day one wrap party going with the unveiling of its latest AXON EQ elevated light and its commitment to be carbon neutral by 2024.

Speaking at the unveiling, Product Manager, Paul Hart declared: “This development is something that’s very close to my heart and I’d like to think it is in response to the feedback, the improvements and the suggestions that [our customers] have all made.”

Describing the product as “unique”, Hart added the new high intensity light will ultimately replace all ADB Safegate’s old products. “It covers all our high intensity applications in a singular modular platform.”

The light’s unique features include guidance functionalities and infrared capability. “We envisage this as a future proofed product that is the next generation of elevated LED technology,” he continued. “However, what really sets this fixture apart is that it can be deployed wirelessly with 5G technology, while future sensors can be added as hardware modules as they’re developed and as an airport operator’s requirements change.”

In terms of meeting sustainability and decarbonisation targets, Hart noted the focus is very much on the power consumption side and keeping that to a minimum. “These will be best-in-class in terms of their power consumption.”

In addition to a more cost efficient, environmentally efficient lighting solution, ADB Safegate also announced its ambitious plan to be carbon neutral by 2024. “As a supplier to the industry, we are committed to supporting the airport’s net zero targets,” said Regardt Willer, Chief Marketing Oficer. “As a consequence, we are revealing today our commitment that by next year ADB Safegate will be completely carbon neutral.”
