Air France’s low-cost subsidiary, Transavia France, has launched five domestic routes from its bases at Paris-Orly and Nantes.
From 2 November flights will operate from Paris-Orly to Biarritz (in addition to Air France services to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Flights will also operate from Nantes to Marseille, Toulouse, Montpellier and Nice.
The announcement of Transavia France’s domestic routes comes one month after Air France-KLM Group secured the green light from pilots for the LCC to fly domestic routes.
Flights will be operated on a Boeing 737-800 equipped with 189 seats.
The airline plans to announce further domestic routes in due course, as well as developing its medium-haul network from bases at Paris-Orly, Nantes, Lyon and Montpellier airports.
Commenting on the Nantes-Toulouse link which will allow a return trip within the same day, Philippe Crébassa, President of Toulouse-Blagnac Airport commented: “The arrival of Transavia France at Toulouse-Blagnac offers strong potential for the development of domestic traffic and domestic trade.”
