Following the announcement that Luis Felipe de Oliveira will step down from the helm at Airports Council International (ACI) World later this year, the trade body has announced that Justin Erbacci will take over as Director General and CEO from September, 2024.
Erbacci brings a wealth of experience having previously served as the CEO of NEOM Airports and of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). He served as CEO at LAWA from 2020 to 2023 and prior to that was Chief Operating Officer, Chief Innovation and Commercial Strategy Officer and Chief Innovation and Technology Officer. He has also held notable roles at Star Alliance, Credit Suisse, United Airlines and Deloitte Touche. With a proven track record of leadership and strategic vision and a commitment to innovation within the industry, ACI World is confident he is well equipped to lead the global trade body into its next phase of growth and development.
As well as representing the organisation on the global stage, Erbacci will implement policies formulated by the General Assembly and World Governing Board and drive membership growth while working closely with ACI World’s stakeholders.

Meanwhile Oliveira, who has served from 2020 as Director General and CEO of ACI World, taking significant strides in enhancing global airport standards and fostering collaboration within the aviation community, commented: “After four challenging yet fruitful years at ACI, I am delighted to pass the baton to our new Director General and CEO to continue the improvement and leadership of this fantastic organisation. I am confident in Justin’s ability to lead ACI World to great heights. His international experience and knowledge of the entire aviation sector will definitely help ACI continue to champion the global airport community, while fostering innovation and collaboration to shape the future of the sector.”
He added that he will personally engage int the transition to ensure Justin’s’ seamless integration into his new role and assist him in navigating the “complex yet dynamic ecosystem that transcends border, propelling our collective journey towards a brighter future in the skies.”
