Riga Airport in Latvia has set up family-friendly security screening for passengers travelling with children under the age of seven, with the implementation of a separate security screening line.

The family line is situated between the fast-track security and the main security screening for all passengers. As well as those travelling with children under the age of seven, holders of the Honorary Family card will also be given to access to the lane.

According to Laila Odina, Chairperson of the Board of Riga Airport: “We are a family-friendly company and we know that travelling with children requires extra care and attention from parents. We want to improve this travel experience, that is why we have opened a family line, which will allow families with small children to go through the security checkpoint quicker and continue to to their flight.”

Light signs have also been replaced in the terminal directing passengers to the family line, the fast-track line and the main security line intended for all passengers.
