Following a competitive bidding process, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract for Tower Simulation Systems (TSS) support and technical refresh to Adacel. The five-year contract has been valued at US$59 million.

Specialists in advanced air traffic management (ATM) solutions and simulation and training systems, Adacel will be tasked with implementing a comprehensive range of services connected with the existing installed network of TSS, including the maintenance and support of the TSS hardware and a full-scale technical refresh for all major components within the TSS large and small systems and TSS Mobile Units.

Daniel Verret, Adacel’s CEO said: “As the FAA TSS software Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Adacel brings unique knowledge and unparalleled experience with these systems, which will ensure minimal disruptions to training throughout the programme’s duration.”

The scope of the agreement includes Help Desk support, access to Adacel’s Training System Support Centre, the deployment of on-site Field Service Representatives/ Technicians and the use of Adacel’s Web-Based Integrated Data Environment data repository.

Verret added, “Our industry track record spans over 35 years, including over two decades of supporting the world’s largest TSS programme, characterised by exceptional system availability throughout its history.
