Busnex, an EU-based provider of green public transport solutions and part of Avia Solutions Group, is launching DinoBus – a fully electric airport apron bus market.

The bus is being launched in line with the aviation industry’s focus on decarbonising operations with the transition from traditional fossil-powered apron buses to electric ones key to achieving the industry’s sustainability goals. As an industry, ground handling will be key to achieving the European Commission’s aims to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.

Giedrius Lelevicius, Business Development Manager at DinoBus, said: “These ambitious goals cannot be achieved if diesel and petrol-fuelled buses continue to transport passengers. Implementing fully electric apron transportation not only enables airports and ground handling companies to reduce their environmental footprint but also aligns with the principles of the European Green Deal.”

Offering a cost-effective solution, the DinoBus is 15-metre bus with a range of up to 150 km with 100% charge and a total passenger capacity of 120 people. In addition, DinoBus ensures operating environmental temperature ranges between -30 and +40 degrees Celsius.
