Iberia Express

Spanish carrier Iberia Express has confirmed new routes to the Canary Islands from Manchester Airport in the UK throughout the winter holiday season. The announcement marks the first time the airline will operate direct flights connecting the British market with the Spanish archipelago.

The airline will operate 16 flights to connect Manchester with Lanzarote and Gran Canaria as well as Madrid between the 26 December and 3 January.

“We are committed to the recovery of tourism,” said Evandro Vianna, CCO at Iberia Express. “As the holiday season begins, we believe that it is important to support connectivity by strengthening our flight programme with new routes and more frequencies that allow our clients to reach their preferred destinations.”

Vianno also referenced how the Canary Islands are one of the most popular winter escapes during the holiday season. “Because of this we have opted to operate these routes, totalling up to 16 flights and 2,800 seats at our client’s disposition,” she confirmed.

In addition to the Canary Islands, Iberia Express will also connect Manchester to the Spanish capital with flights arriving from Madrid on 26 and 27 December and departing from Manchester Airport on 2 and 3 January respectively.

Referencing the measures that have been taken by the airline to ensure passenger and crew safety and wellbeing, Vianna revealed that Iberia Express has reached an agreement with Quironprevencion to provide passengers who wish to take a COVID-19 test in Spain before returning to the UK with special and exclusive rates.
