Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville airports have all received Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) following audits that took place in November focused on the health and hygiene measures put in place at the three hubs, which are all managed and developed by Cambodia Airports.

Measures introduced at all three airports as part of the ‘Protecting each other’ campaign have included: Cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing, staff protection and enhanced passenger communications and facilities. Processes have also been specifically adjusted to protect passengers and the airport personnel when they interact, such as at check-in, boarding or disembarkation, as well as at the various duty-free, food and beverage outlets and business lounges.

VINCI Airports (the main shareholder of Cambodia Airports) developed and promoted its ‘Protecting each other’ campaign for all airports across its global network, based on hygiene recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

“We congratulate the Cambodia Airports operated airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville for obtaining the ACI Airport Health Accreditation to prove to the world and t the communities they serve that effective health measures have been put in place in compliance with the highest standards recommended by ICAO,” said Stefano Baronci, Director General ACI Asia-Pacific.

Meanwhile, Alain Brun, CEO of Cambodia Airports, added: “By putting the health safety of its passengers and airport users first, Cambodia Airports remains true to itself as one of Cambodia’s key public service providers… Having a reliable health system at its airports ensures that Cambodia will be looked at favourably when air travel restarts and people browse around destinations to visit either for leisure or business opportunities.”a
