Vestergaard has confirmed an order for six additional Elephant e-BETA units for Calgary International Airport in Alberta, Canada.

The Elephant e-BETA is electrically operated with a hybrid option for driving to meet customer needs and has been in operation at airports in Canada, as well as the US and Europe for several years. The six new units are in addition to 12 de-icing units purchased by Calgary in 2022 and which will be in operation this year.

“We are delighted to once again have the earned the trust of FSM Group and to be recognised for our dedication to quality and sustainable innovation,” said Vestergaard’s Anders Larsen, Chief Sales Officer. “This order not only reaffirms our position in the market but also motivates us to continue pushing the boundaries and setting new industry standards.”

Vestergaard’s Elephant e-BETA is helping the GSE provider’s customers meet their environmental goals by reducing greenhouse gases under their control and contributing to a carbon neutral future. At Calgary specifically, it is also now enabling the airline community operating out of the airport to effectively implement a fleet replacement plan that brings them one step closer to meeting their environmental goals.

Vestergaard has also recently partnered with United Ground Express (UGE) as the North American launch customer for two of its products: the Elephant e-Mini MY Lite and the refurbished e-Vacuum Toilet Service (VTS) units.  The acquisition means that operators can use the equipment in closed gate areas with zero emission  and no small particle pollution, while noise is practically eliminated as there is no need for engine idle on the ramp.

“We are thrilled to introduce our new, sustainable ground support units in North America. In collaboration with UGE, we support their mission for an environmentally committed and carbon-neutral future,” said peter Haug, Vestergaard’s VP Sales North America.
