Following the suspension of its service between Atyrau in western Kazakhstan and Istanbul in Turkey in March 2021 as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, Air Astana is resuming its direct flights between the two cities from 26 April.

The return of this twice weekly service will see Atyrau become the third city in Kazakhstan from which Air Astana serves Istanbul. Flights will be operated on Tuesdays and Fridays using an Airbus A320neo aircraft. The service will depart from Aytrau at 08:10 in the morning, arriving in Istanbul at 10:20. The return flight from Istanbul will depart at 11:20, arriving in Atyrau at 17:05 local time.

On 17 April, the airline also increased flights from Almaty to Istanbul to 10 times a week while flights from Nur-Sultan to Turkey’s largest city will be operated daily from 25 April 2022.
