Baggage and cargo handling specialist, Alstef, is expanding its presence in India to meet rising demand  and has opened a new office and manufacturing centre in Pune, western India.

Aligning with Indian market trends, such as high-speed systems and advanced sorting technologies, Alstef India is investing in infrastructure projects, as well as targeting operations and maintenance service contracts. It is also introducing soltuiosn such as BAGXPERT – predictive maintenance, to address the need for greater efficiency baggage handling systems.

Highlighting the company’s commitment to tailoring solutions to local needs, Tennyson Anthony, Managing Director of Alstef India, said the “approach prioritises operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or performance standards.”

Alstef is also working to reduce its environmental impact by implementing eco-conscious product design and procurement strategies, in line with its global sustainability strategy. It prioritises products with minimal environmental footprints, advocates responsible consumption and waste management and incorporates energy-saving measures.
