Aena saw more than 29.7 million passengers pass through its Spanish airports in July, 10% more than 2022 and 1.2% more than in 2019.

July also saw 242,222 aircraft movements and 86,779 tonnes of cargo being transported throughout Aena’s airport network.

Among Aena’s airport network, Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in July, seeing 5,543,088 passengers at a growth of 10.3% compared to July 2022.

Other airports reporting significant increases in passenger traffic from last year include Alicante-Elche Airport, with 1,719,090 passengers at a 12.7% increase from 2022; Ibiza Airport, with 1,435,352 passengers at a 6.8% increase; Gran Canaria Airport, with 1,139,338 passengers at a 6.7% increase; and Valencia Airport, with 1,035,611 passengers at a 17.8% increase.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport also reported the highest number of movements throughout July, seeing a total of 34,468 movements at a 6.3% increase compared to 2022.

Other airports reporting some of the highest number of movements in July include Palma de Mallorca Airport, with 29,906 movements at a 2.5% increase; Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, with 17,320 movements at a 12% increase; Gran Canaria Airport, with 10,593 at a 7.1% increase; and Alicante-Elche Airport, with 10,584 movements at a 8.2% increase.
