A collaboration between ADB Safegate and Swedish vertiport supplier and operator, will see the development of infrastructure for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. The agreement was signed during Dubai Air Show, which took place mid-November.

The partnership follows Kookiejar signing an agreement in 2022 with heliport operator, Air Chateau, to develop a vertiport in Dubai South, as part of a wider vision to create a network of vertiports to enable air taxi services.

With its comprehensive airport solutions, the involvement of ADB Safegate, will see a range of products and services designed to safety, efficiency and sustainability of airside operations being introduced to the ground infrastructure in line with plans to usher in a new era of smart, interconnected vertiports.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with ADB Safegate to take our vertiports to the next level,” said Kilm Silander, Founder of Kookiejar. “Their world-class airfield solutions and global presence empower us to create vertiports that redefine safety and efficiency standards, addressing the complex demands of urban aviation.”

Fredrik Johansson, Business Development  & Strategic Projects at ADB Safegate, added: “Kookiejar’s innovative vertiport approach aligns with our mission to deliver best in-class airport solutions. The Middle East, with its challenging environmental conditions, is a crucial market for us. We are proud to test our technology for the Middle East’s inaugural vertiport.”
