Allegiant Air has begun services from San Diego International Airport (SAN) to Provo, Utah via Provo Municipal Airport (PVU). The flights, which offer the only service between the two cities, are being operated twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

“The addition of Provo as a new city accessible from SAN on Allegiant will benefit our region as visitors from Utah will have an opportunity to visit our beaches, experience our amusement parks and enjoy our culturally diverse restaurant offerings,” said Kimberley Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority President and CEO. “San Diegans looking to partake in winter sports and outdoor recreation will appreciate the easy nonstop flight up north.”

Situated approximately 45 miles south of Salt Lake City, Provo is in the heart of the larger Utah valley. It is bounded on the east by the Wasatch Front mountain peaks and on the west by Utah Lake. Its location makes it easy to access national parks and canyons, with bountiful ski resorts, hiking, fishing, watersports and camping opportunities.

Allegiant now offers nonstop service to 11 destinations from SAN with the addition of the Provo route. Earlier this year it began nonstop services to Austin, Texas as well as Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
