Friday 11 June saw a Luxair De Havilland Q400 aircraft, sporting a new special livery, celebrating pride month, land at London City Airport in the UK.

Designed in partnership with the Luxembourg association Rosa Lëtzebuerg, which has been actively fighting for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community since 1996,  the livery, which features the colours of the pride flag on the fuselage, as well as in the cabin’s interior decoration, will spread Luxair’s message of inclusiveness throughout Europe.

In addition, Luxair is also launching a range of products to commemorate the event and encourages everyone to wear the Luxair colours for Luxembourg Pride Week, which will take place in Esch-sur-Alzetter from 3 to 11 July, this year.

Among the merchandise offered, customers can choose from mugs, thermal bottles, t-shirts, pins and ‘remove before flight’ key rings, which are available in the Luxair Travel Stores in the departure hall at Luxembourg Airport, as well as in Munsbach.

London City  is also celebrating Pride Month. It has partnered with myGwork, to promote a number of online events, which will bring together the LGBTIQ+ professionals, allies and anyone who believes in workplace equality. The airport has also updated its logo to promote diversity and inclusivity, as well as solidarity with the Pride movement.

Neil Dillon, London City Airport’s Marketing Director, said, “In the past year, Luxair has brightened our runway thorugh their co-operation with the artist Sumo, and now via this powerful partnership with Rosa Lëtzebuerg. The striking livery on this aircraft spreads a message of inclusivity which is not only inspirational to everyone that flies Luxair, but to all our staff as well. We’re proud to partner with Luxair and we hope that initiatives like this will help passengers all over London get excited about taking to the sky again from London’s most central airport.”
