While ICT provider SAMI Advanced Electronics has partnered with DTP to deliver the solution, Veovo’s Queue and Flow Management system is being used alongside DTP’s tNexus smart mobile platform. It has been designed for multi-airport and multi-terminal use, to ensure consistent, efficient operations across all the air transport hubs and will be rolled out in phases over the next 18 months. The solution has already been installed at Jeddah and Riyadh airports.
With millions of passengers travelling through Saudi airports every year, this system will help GACA and MATARAT proactively address bottlenecks in critical areas such as check-in, immigration, security and transfer zones. “This is a transformative initiative that will reduce the passenger experience at Saudi Arabi’s airports,” said Abdulaziz Aldahmash, Executive Vice President for Quality and Customer Experience at GACA, explaining that it will offer “transparency and efficiency” to help monitor and enhance operations.
Using data from LiDAR sensors, stereo cameras and WiFi/ BLE infrastructure, Veovo’s People Flow and Queue Management solution analyses people’s movement. This sensor-agnostic approach was critical to ensuring scalability and flexibility to meet the demands of varying airport layouts and architecture. DTP is then able to deliver the insights to stakeholders including airport staff via its tNexus Airport View mobile application, which provides real-time metrics, alerts and flight information.
