World Fuel Services (World Fuel) has announced an expansion of its partnership with Platinum Business Aviation Centre at Gold Coast Airport in Australia. The fuel supplier will assume management of fuel retailing operations for business and general aviation at the regional hub.
This move strengthens a six-year collaboration between the two companies and marks the beginning of a 10-year agreement aimed at enhancing aviation fuel services at the airport.
As part of the deal, World Fuel will oversee upgrades to the airport’s aviation fuel facilities and provide JIG-compliant fuel training for Platinum’s staff to ensure continued high standards of quality, safety, and service.
“Working with World Fuel allows us to offer our customers a more integrated service,” said Joe Stenning, General Manager at Platinum Business Aviation Centre. “This collaboration leverages World Fuel’s global reach and expertise which spans over 200 countries and 8,000 locations, to enhance our operations and the experience for aircraft operators at Gold Coast Airport.”
World Fuel has been active in Australia since 2011, expanding its presence after acquiring ExxonMobil’s fuelling operations in 2017. The company now operates at 30 airports across the country, providing fuel and ground support to the aviation industry.
Meanwhile, Platinum is well known for its world-class fixed-base operator (FBO) services, offering premium amenities and top-tier customer service to operators and passengers.
“This agreement highlights our mutual dedication to delivering superior service to aviation customers and improving operational efficiency at Gold Coast Airport,” said Davin Magee, Managing Director at World Fuel Services Australia.
The partnership further cements World Fuel’s role in supporting Australia’s aviation sector while reinforcing Platinum’s reputation for excellence in business aviation services.
