VMD Corp awarded $140m contrat at Kansas City Airport
Kansas City International Airport in Missouri has strengthened its partnership with VMD Corp by awarding the defence and security company a $140 million five-year contract for baggage screening services.
Operating 16 screening lanes, VMD has served as the sole provider of enhanced passenger and baggage screening services for the airport, which typically handles around 16,000 passengers a day, for the last four years.
The new contract will see VMD perform screening services that include identifying dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/ or on the passengers themselves. Screeners will also perform critical safety tasks such as conducting pat-down searches, operating x-ray machines and hand-held wands and screening/ reviewing tickets using electronic imaging equipment.
