Technology provider, Veovo, has deployed its Intelligent Airport Platform at Cardiff Airport in the UK to boost efficiency and predictability at the regional hub.

The next-generation airport management and revenue technology connects people and systems across the airport experience for more holistic, effective decision making. It also delivers improved airport operational processes and cost efficiencies. With airport staff juggling multiple responsibilities, it is vital they have access to trusted data and insights enabling them to make fast, accurate operational decisions.

Veovo’s Flight Management application and Airport Operations Database (AODB) will provide real-time integration of airline and air traffic systems, enabling role-based information, alerts and recommendations, making it easier for staff to prioritise activities and proactively respond to peak-demand periods and pre-empt issues.

Cardiff CEO, Spencer Birns, said: “It is great to be in a position to modernise our technology and upgrade to Veovo’s systems, which will enhance our customer experience.”

In addition to enabling staff to respond to the needs of passengers and airlines, allocation of resources to flights, such as gate parking, check-in counters and luggage belts, will also be managed by the new platform, ensuring they are used in the most efficient way possible.

In parallel, Veovo’s Revenue Management application will increase the efficiency of Cardiff’s aeronautical billing by automating the preparation and processing of invoices, improving revenue assurance and cash flow.

“Airports of all sizes are switching on to the power of joined-up thinking based on live data to improve real-time decision-making and collaboration,” said James Williamson, CEO at Veovo. “We are delighted to partner with Cardiff to help them optimise their assets and resources and ultimately to deliver a better experience for both airlines and passengers.”
