Swedish regional airline Västflyg will be operating a new route between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Trollhättan Vänersborg Airport from 2 October 2024, on a two times weekly basis.

“We see that there is a strong demand to be able to travel from Trollhättan and further out into the world,” said Anna Petre, CEO of Västflyg. “Today, there are direct flights from Arlanda to many destinations that our immediate area cannot offer. This means that we are extra happy to be able to present Arlanda as a destination, which enables easier and faster travel for our customers.”

The airline is hoping to establish network connections within Sweden to its capital, to facilitate business opportunities and personal trips locally.

“I’m very happy that Västflyg chooses to further expand and add another of Swedavias Airports to their offer,” said Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business at Swedavia. “And a new domestic route is of course extra welcome. A strong domestic flight is essential for people to be able to meet across the country and have smooth connections to the rest of the world, whether traveling to meet friends and family, discover new places or on business.”

Trollhättan-Vänersborg Airport was the first airport in the world to offer only blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for all aircraft refuelling at the regional hub.
