All airports showed an increase in total, although the increase varied locally between the airports. The positive development in May was driven by continued demand for primarily international air travel. International air travel is still to some extent influenced by the current global situation, and above all the situation in the Middle East.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden’s largest airport, had more than 2.2 million passengers in May. That is an increase of 2% compared to May last year. International travel increased by just under 3% to nearly 1.9 million passengers, while domestic travel decreased by 2% to about 370,000 passengers.
