Swedish airport operator Swedavia has appointed Aron Backström as Chief Commercial Officer. He will assume the role on 10 August 2026 and currently serves as VP Product & Loyalty at SAS.
Backström holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and has over a decade of experience in the aviation industry.
Recently, Swedavia welcomed Mats Johannesson as its new President and CEO, following the resignation of Jonas Abrahamsson in August 2025.
“I am truly looking forward to welcoming Aron Backström to Swedavia,” said Johannesson. “With his experience in leading change and business development, I am confident that he will contribute to creating value for our passengers, airline customers, tenants, and other partners.”
