Southern Sky Aviation opens new U.S. Customs facility at Trent Lott International Airport

Pascagoula, Mississippi-based Southern Sky Aviation has opened a new U.S. Customs facility, celebrating the occasion with a ribbon cutting on 19 March.

The facility significantly expands international access and delivers a seamless arrival experience, the company says, with efficient on-site customs clearance. It allows international guests to bypass the long lines and congestion often associated with larger airports. According to Southern Sky Aviation, the FBO also participates in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Reimbursable Services Program, enabling 24/7 service and increased efficiency during high-traffic periods.

“We are proud to welcome U.S. Customs and Border Protection to Southern Sky Aviation at Trent Lott International Airport,” said Darryl Brewer, president of FBO operations for Southern Sky Aviation.

“Its presence transforms PQL into a true Port of Entry and positions our airport to serve international aviation operations with professionalism, security and southern hospitality service.”

In addition to the new facility, construction is underway on 121,500 square feet of additional ramp space, including a second connector point that enhances safe, efficient fuel transfer. Southern Sky Aviation has 67,000 square feet of hangar space at the site which is able to accommodate both based and transient aircraft up to a Gulfstream 650.

Southern Sky Aviation delivers quick turns and comprehensive ground handling for large aircraft (belt loading, airstairs and GPU), along with cargo and freight loading/unloading, on-site maintenance and top-tier fueling. The terminal at the airport offers a welcoming lounge, a conference room with full A/V and seating for 10, as well as The Sky Café, which serves southern cuisine and complimentary soft-serve ice cream.
