Smiths Detection, a developer of threat detection and screening technologies, has sold three advanced HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX – Computed Tomography (CT) checkpoint scanners to Airports of Thailand. The sale marks the first of its kind within Thailand.

The scanners use the same imaging technology as medical CT scanners, creating high-resolution 3D images. By installing the Smiths Detection product, passengers will be able to keep electronics and liquids in their bags and speed up the security process.

“We are honoured to partner with Airports of Thailand to bring CT checkpoint technology to Thai airports for the first time,” said Matt Clark, VP Commercial, at Smiths Detection. “This milestone reflects our shared commitment to innovation, safety, and enhancing the passenger journey.”
