Smiths Detection has announced new contracts across aviation and border security infrastructure in Japan

Advanced security screening and threat detection systems provider Smiths Detection has secured new contract wins in Japan, including partnerships with Hiroshima International Airport and Miyazaki International Airport.

Smiths Detection has also deployed technology at Haneda Airport, Ishigaki Airport and Okadama Airport through its partnership with Japan Airlines.

According to Smiths Detection, it is mobilising the company’s HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model S scanners at the airports, removing the need for passengers to take out electronics, liquids or gels out of their hand luggage.

The company’s iLane A20 system, an automatic and intelligent tray return solution, will also be installed, enhancing security and elevating the passenger experience.
