The Australian Government has given AUD 250,000 to Skyportz to fund the development of the Aeroberm vertipad under the Industry Growth Program.

The Aeroberm system is intended to reduce noise and features a fire suppression system and is installable on rooftops, carparks, and other structures in densely populated environments to enable electric air taxi operations. Skyportz intends to match the funds to create a AUD 500,000 research and development pool.

“This grant will help us take our patented vertipad technology from concept to prototype,” said Clem Newton-Brown OAM, CEO of Skyportz, speaking at the Singapore Airshow this week. “We’re focused on delivering a safe, affordable and deployable solution that will enable property owners and developers to future-proof their sites for the coming era of electric air taxis.”
