Dedicated business and general aviation airport, Skylark Field, has officially opened its latest FBO, as it joins the Avfuel network.
The 3,000 sq.ft terminal offers an enhanced operational and passenger experience for those travelling through the Central Texas airport. It offers customers a bright, spacious reception area, comfortable pilot and passenger lounges, a well-equipped meeting room and complimentary refreshments.
“We’re excited to welcome travellers and the community to experience all that our new facility has to offer,” said Mike Wilson, Executive Director for the City of Killeen Aviation Department.
“This opening marks a new chapter of exceptional service and comfort at Skylark Field Airport, and we look forward to sharing it with everyone who walks through our doors.”
Beyond the facility itself, sustainability and education are integral to operations. The facility features solar panels and charging stations to reduce its environmental footprint, while also expanding opportunities for students at Central Texas College to complete their Flight Instructor Certifications.
The airport, which has a 5,495-ft runway and 48 hangars, accommodates up to 64 locally based aircraft, from single-engine to a King Air 250.
